Have you been in and noticed the new Guides’ Choice flies? Each week, our TRFC guides will personally pick proven patterns that they stand behind for current conditions, so you can hit our enormous fly selection with confidence. These hot flies will be rotated weekly based on our guides’ preferences and successes, and is just one more way we show our clients and customers that we stand behind our local knowledge and experience.

Green River 1500 cfs

The Green River is holding steady with flows this week and we are looking healthy for mid July.  Fishing has been good most days with a few great days.  Dry fly fishing is solid right now!  Golden Stones, Drakes, Sallies, Caddis, and some PMDs have been getting the fish to look up still and if you’re a big fly kinda guy, toss hoppers and chubbies. The world of ‘getting down and dirty’ is still bringing some big fish to the net, so don’t be afraid to throw some ugly streamers or work with a dry/dropper rig.  Fishing is good and will improve over the coming weeks with big top-water action.

New Fork 1450 cfs

The flows have dropped a little over the past 10 days, and the river is hit or miss- but that’s business as usual when talking about the New Fork. Dry fly fishing is still a good bet and some great fish are being caught on the river. Same story as the Green for bugs and action.

This river is a great option for early season fishing. Working under Wind River Troutfitters, LLC, TRFC offers guided float trips on this fishery. Flows are dropping on this river quickly and the dry fly fishing is incredible right now.

Lakes

Soda Lake has been fishing off and on. The water temps are climbing and reaching into the 70’s in the shallows. Hit the early morning hours and late evening when the fish are more active. Streamers, buggers, leeches and mice have been working. Scuds and chrons are consistently working too. Stop in the shop so you can pick up some of our new lake patterns.
