Come Fish with US!!

Frank Baglin with his first fish ever on the Seedskadee section of the Green!

The weather over the last few days has really been nice and sunny, and we have been watching the flows every few hours to see what the rivers are going to do over the next week.  We have seen a quick spike in the flows last week, but the rivers came down quickly and cleared up a little to offer fishable water for most sections of the Green and New Fork.  We anticipate that the rivers will have another big flush move through the system over the next 2 weeks, but the million dollar questions is how long will it last and when will it hit again!  We currently have some good to great fishing options and if you live within a days drive and want to catch some really good fish this week, we have openings for the next few days!

Learn to Fly Fish:

TRFC is offering a few opportunities to learn to fly fish during the month of June!  Our local BOCES program is offering two courses taught by Orvis-Certified TRFC Guide and casting instructor Mike Kaul. On June 22, the Beginner-Intermediate class takes place, and on June 15, we are proud to bring back the Ladies Only class, including a lunch provided by Upper Green River Trout Unlimited. Visit the BOCES website to get signed up, but don’t delay-these classes always sell out.

Two Rivers is also offering a Streamer Trophy Trout Clinic –  If you are interested in learning about fishing streamers, hunting big fish in a river or lake system, equipment needed for streamer fishing, stripping methods, and all other things related to fishing streamers and targeting the large trout!  Call the shop for more information-we will only be offering 6 spots per clinic!

Green River- 1600 cfs

Big Trophy-Sized Bows slamming bugs while fishing on the Green

The Green River is running dirty but fishable until the Hustons take out.  We have seeing alot of fish eating worms and big streamers off the banks.  The numbers of fish are not great for a days worth of fishing, but the quality if good.  The fish we are catching are belly full of worms!  The bobber is working well and if the flows hold for a few more days, the fishing should be great this weekend.  Some dry fly action in the evening if your in the right spots and the wind is not blowing!  The best flys for this section is Big, Heavy, and Articulated!

TRFC offers float trips, walk/wades and lessons!!!

New Fork River-3700 cfs

This river has come down the last few days and fishing well.  Worms, Stoneflys, and rubber-legs have been working well!  If you not sure how to fish this little river, call the shop-  We have guides that have been fishing this place daily and understand how and where to catch fish!

Seedskadee: 5200 cfs

This section of the Green River is on the rise and fishing has been tough over the last week!  We had a few decent days last weekend, but the flows were bump alot in order to get ready for the run-off this June.  The fishing will be slow for the next 3-5 days and then we should start to see things stabilize and fish will start feeding consistently again!

The local lakes are fishing well. Book a trip with our guides and let them show you how they fish our local lakes. We fish many of our lakes with great success during the river run-off. If you have ever considered a lake fishing trip give us a call and we can fill you in with details. Best stillwaters this week were Boulder Lake and Fontenelle. Soda Lake will be the hot topic for the next few weeks, especially at night.

Soda Lake

If you need some pointers on flies or fly lines for this lake, stop by the shop and stock up! Leeches, Scuds, Damsels, and Buggers have been the ticket. We have some killer damsels at the shop that have been producing well. The brookies are aggressive and gorging. The water temps will be on the rise over the next week or two, and that will get the fish feeding and being more active during the day. TRFC has been working different flies and times on this lake over the past 2 weeks and can help any angler catch fish out there. If you want to really learn the lake, book a guided trip out there and enjoy learning the secrets of fishing this famous stillwater.
