We just got a batch of HOT FLYS tied up by our guides that you need to stop by and grab!  For REAL-  We have a few patterns that you can’t find anywhere that our shop is tying up daily!  Ask for the TRFC Leech and TRFC UV Leech!  On the rivers, colors have been playing a key to success for streamers and worms, stop by and we will fill you in on the best selection of bugs from the day before.  We are the local fly shop for the Green and New Fork!  Our guides live on these rivers and if your looking to spend a day fishing here, spend it with a hard-working local guide that knows everything a fly fishing guide should about the rivers they guide on!

HOT FLY SELECTION BY GUIDES!  Flies with STREET CRED

We will be starting something new this summer!  WEEKLY one of our TRFC guides will personally pick 5 flies that they stand behind!  Come shop our fly selection with CONFIDENCE!  Our guides choice fly’s will be rotated weekly based on one of our guides preference and liking!  Our shop stands behind our local knowledge and advice!  Come by this week to see our new GUIDES CHOICE picked flies!

GREEN RIVER

The Green River is running clear above the fence take out.  The fishing up that high has been okay this week and is getting better as the water warms up a little each day.  People have started to fish the lower section of the green with decent action on worms and streamers.  We have a TRFC Pink worm that our guide crew has been using which seems to be the best worm of all the worms out there!  If such a thing exists.  Yes-  no shame in the game!  MATCH THE WORM HATCH!  Then, like Hank Patterson, snap a wide angle lens picture and hashtag that wild trout on instagram with #hitting dries!  The flows are holding steady at 2800 cfs the last few days.  We have some really windy days this week, but mid-week looks like a great time to hit your favorite section of the GREEN!  This river is something special and if you need some help getting this river dialed in or looking to learn more about our P-Town fish, let us take you on a guided trip down this river!  If your reading this for some fly selection menu-  All the TRFC can say is take alot of colors if your going to streamer fish!  Worms are not all created equal, and if you see some drakes or stones — get the rod rigged for the hatch coming soon!

NEW FORK

The flows are down to 3700 cfs on the lower section. Worms have been the best fly this week on the river and getting them down a little with a few split shots has worked the best.  Fish streamers and big nymphs and look for little pockets and deeper pools. Slow-moving water along the banks will start to hold more fish as the flows stabilize.  A Worm rig is working best, but we have been seeing very soft takes, so watch your line carefully.  Fish are starting to move throughout the system and we are finding them on banks, inside bends, slow pools, sloughs, and if all these spots don’t work-  just remember that fish live in WATER!  So just make sure your fly is in the water!  We have a few NEW FORK hard core guides that literally have been tearing it up on the river over the last few weeks!  Let us know if you are interested in spending some river time with them.  We have a few open spots in mid June still so call us up!!

Guide Katie Lane with a NEW FORK bow!

Seedskadee

This river is a great option for early season fishing. Working under Wind River Troutfitters, LLC, TRFC offers guided float trips on this fishery. We currently have 2 guides that are permitted to run this section, so call us up and we can get you there. The flows have been on the rise, but the fishing has still been solid. The river is currently running at 7300 cfs which is a small increase since earlier in the week.  Most anglers fish below the surface on this tailwater with scuds, midges, worms and leeches. The fishing has been really good below the dam and when the wind dies down some dry fly action has been fun! Streamers work this time of the year, so make sure you chuck them too if the fishing slows down. A sink-tip line is your best bet right now.  If you have never fished this water-  it should be on your bucket list!  We have a few spots open for the seedsakdee section this JUNE!  Don’t wait to find your next favorite fishing spot!  This section of the green is among one of the last great places to trout hunt!

Lakes

Soda Lake has been fishing good for limited times during the day.  Our shop is getting new colored leech patterns in daily this week!  These are custom tied by our local guides and work great up there!  The fish are starting to move into the shallows with more consistency and sight fishing is a good option during the day.   Early morning hours and late evening the fish are more active and streamers / buggers / leeches / mice have been working.  Scuds and chrons are consistently working too.  Stop the shop so you can pick up some new lake flies for SODA! Our shop is currently getting more and more lake flies for this fishery.  We have some new leeches and damsels that have been working really well.
